"Mutual contradiction being reconciled on a higher level of truth"

Volume 1, Number 13, July 25, 2008

Introduction
Ministry is often a thankless and difficult job, especially when the message is "new" to people's minds, though it may be a genuine gem of truth that has lain buried for many generations. Today, facing many brick walls, I felt like I wanted to give it all up again. Then I read what Randy Pausch said before he died. We believe we have caught a glimpse of a rare gem of truth that has been only partially seen by others before now. We are struggling against many difficulties to try to get the vision out a little at a time, from week to week. So far we've barely laid the foundation, and walls of difficulty are standing in the way of making serious progress. But we want the divinely promised blessing we see in Scripture badly enough to press on in helpless faith. Like Martin Luther, we say, "Here I stand; I can do no other."

Food For Thought
"The brick walls are there for a reason ... to show us how badly we want something, Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They're there to stop the other people." ~Randy Pausch,"last lecture" professor

The Gospel in the Three Angels
of Revelation 14

Ian Anthony 'Tony' Jones Last
week, I strayed from my real topic to share some of my frustrations with sincere, but closed-minded, know-it-all types with whom you can not share possibly valid, but new perspectives, unless they were the ones to have seen them first.

I ran out of room to write the article I really wanted to write, so I said I'd let you know the connection between what I shared and the title of the article this week.

Well the connection is simple. I just shared those thoughts in the hope that you will have enough of a humble and open-minded attitude to at least hear us out to the end before you click the unsubscribe link below. If you have questions or concerns please write us. We are genuinely open to godly correction where we still have growing points in our ongoing search for all the light that God intends us to see in this last generation.

Time and challenges have once again prevented the needed study and preparation towards sharing all that I had wanted to share under this article title. But the brief article below gives just a tiny hint of what the title to this article is all about. Later on we will tie it in with what William Miller and his followers missed... something that we see as a vital ministry that Jesus is trying to get us all to cooperate with right now.

A Lesson of Dependence
Dylan Howardhe highest form of worship is dependence upon Jesus. (1)  It is announced by the loud voice of the first angel of Revelation 14: “…worship Him….” (2)  This is the everlasting gospel (good news) of the Three angels’ messages.  It is good news to those who have repented of the belief and attitude of Laodicea and no longer feel that they are “rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.” (3)  It is news of warning to every individual whose dependence is not completely upon God and what He has done in giving His Son Jesus to save us.

True dependence upon Jesus recognizes that selfishness and sin defile our lives. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (4)

It is not only our past that we need forgiveness and cleansing from.  “For all (even after we have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior)… come short of the glory of God. (5)

The only way to be saved is to come to Jesus realizing we are clothed in filthy garments, regardless of how long we have been Christians. These filthy garments must be exchanged for the garment of righteousness that has been perfected by Jesus alone. (6)

"And he showed me Joshua the high priest [representing the faithful people of God] standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment." (7)
